The Centre for Suicide Prevention Training Programs, is seeking a full time Training Coordinator. Key responsibilities of this position are establishing and maintaining positive relationships with community organizations, contract trainers and other sectors that are involved in the development and/or delivery of suicide prevention training workshops.
The Training Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Director of Training Programs in activities related to running the Training Department. These duties include:
Key responsibilities
• Ensure workshop organizers have a successful event by helping to determine the best program for their situation, supporting budgeting, room and equipment requirements, trainer bookings, hotel and travel arrangements and providing required participant materials.
• Build supportive relationships with over 120 contract trainers, including:
o Maintain trainer database
o Respond to Trainer questions involving suicide statistics and workshop content
o Assist with Trainer Updates as required.
o Update and maintain Trainer website
o Develop and gather content for Trainer Newsletter
• Update training materials, maintain program statistics, and oversee data collection.
• Promote Centre for Suicide Prevention programs through a variety of means, including consulting with organizers, answering general inquiries, and representing the Centre as required.
• Act as the local organizer for Calgary public workshops, up to 20 per year
• Organize local, provincial and national workshops, Training for Trainer Workshops and Trainer Conferences
• Invoice for all workshops organized by the Centre for Suicide Prevention
Qualifications
• 3+ years experience working in human services
• Degree in related discipline, such as education, social sciences, or health.
• Highly organized, detail oriented with proven ability to multi-task.
• Superior skills in all aspects of communication: in-person, written, and telephone.
• Proven customer service skills
• Experienced in working effectively with individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds.
• Demonstrated problem solving skills
• Function effectively in a team environment
• Demonstrated flexibility and creativity in work settings
• Proven computer skills
• Ability to prioritize workload and work independently.
• Ability to work with humor and flexibility in a multi-faceted, busy, non profit organization
